Tub-to-Shower Conversions
Replace an underused bathtub with a spacious walk-in shower designed for comfort, accessibility, storage, easier cleaning, and everyday use.

Turn underused space into daily comfort.
- Remove a large garden or alcove tub
- Create a lower-entry walk-in shower
- Add a bench, niche, and handheld fixture
- Improve slip resistance and maintenance
- Convert the original shower to linen storage where feasible
Most standard conversions: 3–5 days.
Moving plumbing, enlarging the wet area, structural repairs, custom tile patterns, specialty glass, or unexpected site conditions may extend the schedule.

Tub-to-Shower FAQs
Can the shower include a bench and grab bars?
Yes. Seating, blocking for properly supported grab bars, handheld fixtures, niches, and lower-entry bases can be incorporated based on the layout and homeowner priorities.
Can the existing shower become a linen closet?
In some layouts, yes. AAHR evaluates plumbing, wall conditions, ventilation, dimensions, and access before recommending a storage conversion.
Is every conversion completed in 3–5 days?
No. That range applies to many standard conversions. Enlarged wet areas, custom fabrication, repairs, and complex selections require more time.
